WBBEC staff and members are dedicated to driving change through the community, government, and throughout the state by writing submissions and signing petitions. As a regional conservation council, we provide comment on policy reviews, to ensure we are getting the best possible outcomes for the natural environment. We are part of broader conservation outcomes that are discussed Australia-wide. Our team meets with local councils, attends meetings and seminars, and contributes to local inquiries and discussion papers.
We provide a platform for our members to discuss the issues of the highest environmental concern. WBBEC advocates for our region environmental concerns at the Environment Minister roundtable events held twice per year. Here, we have the opportunity to raise important issues facing the Wide Bay Burnett Region with the Environment Minister of the day directly.
