Member Groups

As a regional conservation council, WBBEC, engages with a number of other environmental based community organisations throughout the Wide Bay Burnett Region and across the state. Facilitating connections between the varieties of organisations in the region, adds value, knowledge and expertise to us all. 

WBBEC accepts membership applications from groups whose principal objectives are nature conservation, environmental protection or that support the objectives of WBBEC.

Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC)

The Cairns and Far North Environment Centre is the peak regional non-government environmental organisation for Far North Queensland.

Capricorn Conservation Council has been the peak environmental advocacy group protecting the Central Queensland environment for 50 years. We advocate for better environmental policy, support local groups on campaigns to protect our natural landscape and marine environments, and encourage action on climate change through education and community engagement.

Cooloola Coastcare has been applying for Local, Regional, State and Federal Government grants to achieve its goals since incorporation in 2001. It was formed with the amalgamation of the Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach Coastcare groups who had both been formed in 1995.
